How Ten Days Can Change Your Life Pt. 1

Welp... Here it comes... the Guatemala Blog.

I hardly know where to start.... I was gone for 10 days with 11 other people who I barely new.
Ever since I heard that Journey (my church) talk about their connection with Hogar De Vida, Guatemala, I felt called to go. At the time, I had no idea why. And I did really recognize it as God urging me to go, I just thought it was myself wanting to go... Does that make sense? (Have you ever thought that God's voice was something else?)
So, towards the end of last semester, we started having meetings. As the trip got closer, I pretty much wanted to commit to going right away. But of course, there were only two things holding me back from going: school and money. However, I knew that if God wanted me to go; if it was in His plan for my life, He would arrange those things. So, I continued on this summer and worked at school, and went to camp,  and made more money than I ever expected. Then, towards the end of the semester, I got money from my grandpa... At that point, I thought to myself, "Welp... looks like I'm going to Guatemala!"
At this point, I knew that God wanted me to go. I had faith that He would open doors for my schooling, too. And He did! My professors have been really great, and have helped me a lot through the already tricky time of the semester.

In this way, my 10 days in Guatemala made me rely on God. I had to trust that He really was going to provide for me and take care of me. That he would accomplish what He had called me to do.
